Simone Aughterlony and Thomas Wodianka put themselves „on trial“. As performers, they are aware that their audience will observe, judge and pass verdict on them, so they work themselves to the bone trying to prove their innocence and worth. They compel each spectator to question his or her own dual and simultaneous role as judge and eyewitness. They also call their own acts into question and reflect on the relationship between lies and truth in reality and in the staging. What is honest? Putting oneself on trail can cause discomfort; this can lead toward exaggeration of the truth; and this exaggeration might soon be experienced as disturbing and afterwards as believable. The performers’ dialogues and gestures are full of humour, which gradually retreats as earnestness increasingly.
